Can I just say that if—and I so mean IF because I don’t think it will ever happen—Kubo ever brings Ulquiorra back, this show will own my fangirl soul. I know that it isn’t going to happen, but even with the miniscule amount of time he and Orihime interacted—I just can’t get away from this pairing. The potential is/was so strong it kills me. The chance for redemption, I think, was there and it didn’t happen and that drives me insane.
Bleach and I have always had this love/hate relationship, and it’s mainly because Kubo lives to torment people with great moments of breakthrough and then just drops you on your face later.
I’ve been trying to get through the end of the Winter War in the anime because I really would like to catch up, but it’s SO HARD x_x I caught up on the manga (sort of) though I’m behind on the more recent chapters. But it’s a never-ending game for me. I’ll fall behind for a few months and then spend a week or two trying to catch up again. It’s been that way since I started watching the show in college.
Recently, I just re-watched the Ulquiorra/Ichigo fight, and finally got past that to watch the rest of the latter half of the battle against Aizen. Ichigo is finally back and the end of the Winter War is in sight, but I’m kind of sad to be moving beyond this part of the series. I loved Hueco Mundo. I loved the Espada. I hate to think that that is it. I watched Starrk and Lilinette’s battle and that was almost as painful as seeing Ulquiorra disintegrate. I hate Kubo for making me care about the villains when I know they’re only going to die or disappear. This is why Bleach infuriates me. Not to mention the fact that they have to have a freaking novel’s worth of dialogue EVERY FUCKING FIGHT! x_x
This show is about more than just the pairings that everyone loves to fight over, believe me, I got it. But it’s hard not to want some romance somewhere. They are always fighting and struggling, and it seems like everyone is only pretending to be happy. For this one moment in the story I felt like we finally got to see better into characters like Orihime, who, up until this point I really wasn’t a huge fan of. I don’t like the ditz she clearly pretends to be. That look in her eyes up there? The depth in them is insane. Where was this girl? Where IS this girl? I didn’t even think she existed.
Ugh… I’m ranting nonsensically, but I just can’t look at beautiful graphics like this without wanting to track down Kubo and strangle him.
PS: Oh yea—and what the EFF happened to Grimmjow? D:< God dammit Kubo!
